It was a glorious night for the Northern on Wednesday as both the gents 1st and 2nd XVIs managed to grab themselves 9-0 victories in the Edinburgh Bowling Association leagues as the 1st team were away to promotion rivals Dean while the 2nd team were at home against the same opposition.
That 1st team win means that they now find themselves 3rd in the league and right back in promotion contention with just 3 games to go. Meanwhile the 2nds are back on top of their pile with the same amount of fixtures remaining.
In an up and down season for the 1st team, to still be in with a chance of being elevated up a division is good work, and well done everyone for sticking in. As for the 2nd team, well, they’re just three games from relative glory now. It’d be great to see them do it, as recognition of the growth they’ve all shown over this past year.
Our ladies team played at home against Seafield on Monday night, and at various points the game was really tight, but in the end our friends from Leith Links did run out 5-0 winners
Next Wednesday our gents 1st XVI are at home to Gorgie Mills, while our 2nd XVI are away to Colinton. The ladies will be at home to Brunstane on Monday night
