A Tough Night In The EBA Knockouts But Victory For The Seniors As They Try To Retain Their Trophy

It was a difficult evening for the Northern in the Edinburgh Bowling Association Knockouts last night as our Pair, Triple and Rink all suffered defeat

Darren was victorious vs Summerside Bowling Club in the singles though and carries the torch forward into a match vs Maitland at Sighthill Bowling Club this coming Thursday. 6.45pm start

Save the date! Let’s cheer on our guy!

Meanwhile, the Seniors played their latest Top 10 tie on Friday afternoon and were victorious over Willowbrae in order to keep their dream of retaining the trophy alive

Garry Harrison lost in the singles by just 1 shot, and after scraping the paint of the white multiple times in the final end. It was really super tight!

Elsewhere, the rink skipped by Jim Bathgate were two shots up going into the final end but the opposition managed to grab that two to make a peels

So it was left upto the pairs and the triples to decide the outcome, and they did indeed prevail, both winning their matches by quite considerable amounts

I’m not sure at this time who they play in the next round or when that will be, but hopefully someone can tell me and then I can keep you updated [this is also a test to see if anyone even reads this ;)]

This evening we host one of the Edinburgh Cup Semi-Finals and Scotland internationals will be taking to our green as it’s Queensberry vs Carricknowe. Some top bowls are sure to be played, and the recently announced Scotland Under-18s Captain should be playing for Carrickknowe, so it’s a chance to see a future star of the sport in action as well

For now, enjoy this photo of the seniors who won last years Top 10
