A Busy Night At The Northern As Rink Champions Are Decided And Our Ladies Win

It was a busy night of celebration at the Northern yesterday as the final of the gents fours was played, and also our ladies team, still in their first season, picked up their first league win

A massive well done to the ladies for their 3-2 victory over Brunstane Bowling Club last night. The historic win was always going to come eventually with all of the enthusiasm and dedication that the ladies have all been showing all season, but it’s just great to have it happen. It’s been wonderful having a ladies section at the club, they’ve really brought new life to the place, and for them to now get a win in their 1st season is marvellous. Well done again!

Hopefully there’s many more wins over many more years to come!

Meanwhile, in the Gents Fours final, It was the rink of Gordon Wilson Snr, Darren Prentice, Euan Craig and Gordon Wilson Jnr who were victorious, giving them a shot at being Ayr-bound two years in a row, after their victory in the District Championships earlier this season. It was a valiant effort from a Mike Drummond skipped rink that also included Grant Young, Callum Anderson and Larry Sorrell, and they can look back on a campaign which may have fallen at the last hurdle, but in which they can hold their heads high.
