Yesterday morning our Gents Rink through in Ayr unfortunately suffered a 21-13 defeat to their opponents from Bonnyrigg Bowling Club in the 2nd round of the Bowls Scotland National Championships
On Wednesday, in the 1st round they defeated Hamilton Caledonian Bowling Club 17-14 and to get a win under their belts, and to maybe relax a little, but ultimately it just wasn’t to be this year
They can come home with their heads held high though and they should be proud of themselves for still being the District Champions and competing at the highest level. It’s still a great achievement and I’m sure that it won’t be the last time they’re at Ayr
EDIT – Bonnyrigg Bowling Club ended up being the overall new Scottish Champions, and you can’t complain when you lose to the eventual winners
