It was a wonderful day out in the sun yesterday as we hosted our mixed pairs invitational event sponsored by M & D Vehicle Management Ltd
Our very own Andy Reid and his mother Rita, invited from Goldenacre Bowling Club, came out victorious at the end of the day after a final vs Mike Drummond and Jana
With 12 teams entered, the day started with a Round-Robin, guaranteeing each pair at least 5 games and giving everyone some valuable match experience
As well as the finalists, the others to emerge from the group stage were our own Gary Largue alongside Bunty Williamson, visiting from Goldenacre ,as well as the Northerns Ally Mitchell and mother Angela, who was also down from Goldenacre for the day.
We also had some guests from Dirleton Bowling club and it’s always great to forge friendships
It was also a chance for everyone to play on a newly turned green to try to find, and create, some new lines, and hopefully the switch around can help lead to some long-term balance
All in all I think it’s safe to say the event was a success with a decent raffle, (well done Gary on the Tennents cans victory), and food available, while the sun shone
