In a victorious week for the Northern there was a trilogy of wins for our teams in Edinburgh Bowling Association League action.
It all kicked off on Monday, with the ladies picking up a historic win over Brunstane Bowling Club, their first in the league format. And it concluded last night with the 1st XVI getting a victory over Gorgie Mills Bowling Club for their second 9-0 victory in a row to keep their promotion dreams alive. Meanwhile the 2nd XVI won 7-2 away at Colinton to leave themselves on the verge of a title, having already secured promotion.
The league now has a break in order for the National Championships to take place but the following Monday, 5th August, the ladies are at home to Colinton, looking to keep the feel good vibes going. On Wednesday 7th August, the Gents 1st XVI are at home to Goldenacre Bowling Club while the 2nd XVI are away to the same opposition. If the 2nds can better whatever score Slateford get by 2 points then that guarantees the title, and saves any final day drama
It’s really getting to the business end of the league season, and all of the internal tournaments are getting to their final stages as well. There’s plenty of bowls still to come, but also, it’s gonna be a long winter without it. So let’s make sure to end the season on a high!
