Ladies League Season Off To A Tough Start

Last night was a historic moment for the Northern as for the first time we had a ladies team competing in the Edinburgh Bowling Association leagues and while the result could have been better it was great to see them out on the green gaining what will be invaluable experience moving forward

They played at home vs Dean and found themselves on the end of a 50-16 defeat but honestly there can be some tight margins in bowls and they were unfortunate to lose some high scores on various ends while up against more experienced opponents.

Last season the Mens 2nd XVI had some similar results to it as well so there’s really no shame, and if anything, those defeats got the 2nd XVI more fired up and more determined to win and practice. Hopefully it lights a fire in the ladies too!

Next Monday, 630pm, they play away from home to Corstorphine and I hope that anyone who can make it gets along to support them and if you see them out on the green having a practice then you do feel free to offer to join in and help out too!
