Fantastic result last night against our local rivals Tanfield in what was a very close match from start to finish and this one definitely could have gone either way, Darren’s triple got us off to a magic winning start with a plus points total of around 16, Ian Miller was skip on R1 and were under the cosh a bit , they were playing well enough but the Tanfield triple always seemed to get the result, they needed to keep the shots down as it looked like if we were able to get 1 more rink up that should do it with Daz and his crew winning so well, over on R4 Euan ,J Urqh and Gogs snr were having a hard tussle with Wee Boab and on R5 Young Gordon and squad got of to a bad start losing a 5 at the 1st end, Gogs and his triple got back into the game and went to the last end with a 1 shot lead, but a look across the green saw Ian on R1 a few down Euan on R4 a few down so we needed the win to probably secure the points so long as the other 2 matches stay tight, it went down to the last bowl of the end with Gogs shot against, Tanfield have a toucher and GH’s bowl lying about an inch away, with no clear sight to the white Gogs saw a shot were if he gave the head a rumble we may get a result, So Gogs drove and was right in the area, didnt get the bowl he wanted but hit the one next to it which trundled throught the head just touching the shot bowl springing it to GH, so the on looking crowd of Northern and Tanfield waited as GH bent down to have a look and announced ” That’l Do ” and you know what they say in Yorkshire if you say that’l do, it means that will more than do !!!!! It was a fortunate result ,brilliant game, unlucky to the Tanfield lads, meanwhile back at planet Gogs , he’s off doing the Helicopter round the green, think hes back to earth now. Well done all the Northern Lads for a brilliant campaign so far and we now meet Hillside at the Northern next Wednesday ,and in the other Semi Maitland are at home to London Road Foundry .
