So Saturday 13th August headed to Craigentinny for the Semi final of the top 10 against Carricknowe,
Dazzling Darren started the tone for todays result against 3 time Scottish champ James Hogg, Darren started off like runaway Train going 10-0 up, James came back a bit getting a couple of shots, Darren took off again getting up to 17-4, and again James came back like the true champ that he is and got to 11, but this just got Daz riled and he turned on the after burners with some amazing heads and great drawing bowls to win this singles game 21-11, and you need to take credit for giving the team a massive boost Darren, Big well done.
The pairs were next and a new formation bringing Jamie in to lead this pair with Euan skipping it against a very experienced pair of Richard Tough & Darren Hush, again our boys were in sparkling form with Jamie setting the heads up nicely and Euan making the changes when it was required, our boys won this comfortably by a good margin which we werent sure if we were going to need it as the triples were close and the Rink were getting beat, great win for the Pairs, Big well done guys.
The next off was the Rink & it was a tough day at the Office for Garry H, Big Geordie , John Urq & Gordon jnr, lost a 4 at the 1st end and didnt get much better from there, every end the back 2 for CK seemed to have the answers and its one we just have to take on the chin, as the other results were coming in it seemed so long as we just kept the score as tight as we could, one to forget and put to bed for our Rink, hard lines guys, must do better in the final.
So last off as usual was our very own JP ( Jim Prentice ) Amazing Andy Reid & the very Positive overly Optimistic Glass very Full and overflowing with Confidence Ian Miller, again playing against a very strong Carricknowe triple, the boys got off to a bad start losing a 5 at the 1st, but it was onwards and upwards after this as the lads got themselves together and were soon back at level pegging, this game was tight pretty much the whole game but again it was our three who showed thier metal when it counted at the business end of things and ran out winners by a few shots, absolutely amazing guys, brilliant triple win
and with the triple winning this gave us an Amazing 6-2 win against our Friends from Carricknowe,
Thanks also must go to our travelling support of troopers, it gave all the players a big lift to see so many club members coming along on a Gorgeous day to support the lads, a very special mention & a Gold Star must go to Gordon Wilson snr for Being the Loudest and most encouraging giving all the lads a massive lift in his own inimitable way, thanks Gogs,
