There’s another busy time ahead at Northern as we have four showpiece events all happening this week
Tuesday evening sees the first Ladies Championship Singles Final that there’s been for a while and it’s taking place between Dawn and Carolyn. I hope to see lots of people coming a long to cheer them on.
I’d say it’s been a real positive for the club to have this ladies section up and running and the more we support it then the more it can grow in the future for the good of everyone. So spread the word and let’s get some new ladies signing up. Tuesday night could even be a good time for you to bring along a lady friend who might be interested in watching to see if they might be interested ahead of next season
There’s also a Club Pairs Championship semi-final happening on the green that night so top bowls are guaranteed all round
On Thursday our ever growing seniors section are playing the final of the Edinburgh Top 10 competition over at Wardie and it’d be great to see anyone who’s available to go and cheer them on in what could be a momentous day
On Friday we have the clubs annual Hibs vs Hearts match and it’s looking like it’ll be a cracker as not only is bowls on a Friday night always a fun excursion but both teams have some top players lined up already and they’ll all be trying to make sure that it’s not their Captain who has to wear the dreaded loo seat around their necks. The captains are yet to be decided and that’ll happen on the day, but whoever they are, they’re brave souls…
Then on Saturday we round out the week with a special day of food and bowling as we host a BBQ alongside the Bobby Loch 3 Bowl Singles Trophy. Festivities are due to start at 1pm and they’ll go on until late as people eat, dance and bowl the night away. It should be fun! The Bobby Loch’s also due to be mixed this season as some of the ladies get involved and that should be interesting! Come on down!
