Saturday the 5th of June was our 1st Internal Competition and a relatively good turn out saw the first silverware handed out this year, the weather was gorgeous for the tournament well organised as always by the Roc and thanks also to Kenny Lawrence for arranging pies and pizza,
so the draw made firstly for the singles and after a few games we got done to the semi final stage which saw Darren Prentice Vs Jimmy Bathgate, Darren found the rink and his weight much better than Jimmy and went through to the final very comfortably, the other Semi had a very evenly matched Jamie Reid against Garry Harrison, Garry got off to a flyer and was 5-1 up, but Jamie pulled it back and at the last end it was peels at 6, Garry sneaked it after a very good last end,
the final was on rink 1 and Garry found the rink much quicker than Darren and pulled into a good lead and never looked back, so Congratulations to Garry who wins the 2 bowl singles,
In the pairs there were a few good pairs put together but in the end after a very enjoyable round robin competition the 2 teams of Finalists were Andy Reid and Kenny Lawrence Vs Alan Mitchell and Gary Largue , Alan & Gary played the final very well together and were too strong on the day for Andy & Kenny, so Congratulations to Alan & Gary on thier 2 bowl pairs win.
