May the 10th was fixture number two for our respective 1st and 2nd 16s and looks like this may be a tough year for the Northern, 2nd 16s played their first game at home to Postal and after last weeks disappointing 9-0 defeat away to Mayfield we at least got our first points on the board with a 2-7 defeat, well done guys its a starting point, plus we have a few younger guys having their first taste of 16s competition,
Our 1st 16s troops were playing the same fixture up at Postal and not much to shout about here either , Young Gogs and his squad picking up our only points here in a 7-2 defeat, Ian Miller and his squad went to the last end 15-10 down but the two skips went to play their bowls the Northern were lying 6 shots, unfortunately the Postal skip who had a pretty decent game all night drew in for the shot killing our chances of escaping with a 4-5 defeat, so its upwards and onwards with a bit of light relief this Sunday from 16s bowls to hopefully get a win away to Clackmannan this Sunday in the Top 10 district Championship.
