Massive congratulations to our 1st 16 Division 2 Champions
After the results of last week we were guaranteed promotion at least, but to win the league didn’t look possible unless Hillside collapsed, they were 4.5 points ahead of us and only needed a 5-4 win at home to Colinton, we’ll done Colinton 6-3 victory
so at the Famous northern Gordon snr and Euan Craig were off with 4 points in the bag and Gordon jnr 3 shots up at the last won a shot at the last to guarantee the home boys at least a 7-2 win but over on rink 5 the tension was building as the Old reliable Warhorse, glass half empty, you all know who I’m talking about was 3 shots down going into the last end and pulled the rabbit out of the Hat getting a 4 at the last to win by a shot and give the Northern an unexpected 9-0 win at home to Goldenacre but more importantly to win the league and gain promotion back to the 1st division.
Big well done to all the lads who have played for the 1sts this season and especially all players last night, fabulous result, but remember your President Mr Bathgate, this was only possible because of him, its all about Jim, his influence is what’s made this all happen, Hail Hail President Jim.
