Closing Day 2017

Sat 30th September will see the closing of the green for another Season which all MEMBERS are reminded that the bills still have to be paid so please support your club during the winer months.

Last two Final’s of 2017

The last two finals of the season was on Monday night and the winners were Jimmy Martin, and James Barr. Jimmy won two bowl Singles and James won the Willie Porterfield  Consolation Singles congratulations two both winners.

Carpet Bowls will be starting on the Monday after closing day 2nd October.

Triples 2017

The Club Champion Jamie Reid, and beaten finalist Gordon Wilson jun,  teamed up with Garry Harrison to win this years Triples against Ronnie McDonald Iain MacDonald, and Ian Miller. This year has been a good year for the triples winners as they have almost cleaned the board in the Club Congratulations to worthy winners.

Dalston Bowling Club 2017

Dalston Bowling Club visited our club for the first time and  hoped that it is not the last. Weather was good as the sun came out and when we were inside, the rain came down a well planed afternoon. Northern Bowling Club would like to thank  the non Members who helped to make the day  very successful . To the Catering Joyce & Bob Davidson ( Eat Your Heart Out ) for the great Buffet that they presented The score 59 – 67 to Dalston BC. In games like this it is the friendship that matters not the score.

E.B.L. Fours

Congratulations to Larry Sorrell, Alec Young ,Grant Young, and Roy Campbell. On winning the Edinburgh Bowling League Fours. against Parkside. Getting of to a good start with a 2,1, the third end saw Parkside get a 1, followed by a 7 to lead 8-3 the next two ends saw Norther get 1,1,and Parkside replying with a 1,in the seventh end making the score 9-5 in favour of Parkside the next three ends saw Northern get a 1,1,5, turning the score in to Northern leading by 9-12 . End eleven saw Parkside get a 2, to make the score 11-12.Next four ends saw Northern take 1,1,3,1, to make the score 11-18. with two ends to go Northern were in the driving seat Parkside getting a 2,1. Making the final score 14-18 . The Eagles were flying home victors against a very sporting Parkside .
